EMG Virtual Care Screenings

EMG Virtual Care Screenings

Due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, HealthPointe Medical Centers have implemented all the following changes to ensure our patients safety:

  • Screen our patients for symptoms or travel history prior to the appointment
  • All patients 65 years and old will not be seen in clinic, however, will be contacted through via Virtual Care and/or Telephone
  • Reducing patients traffic, and not allowing visitors or family members
  • Increasing appointments time and closing some aspects of clinic
  • Maintaining safe distance within clinic and regular cleaning and sanitization
  • Instructing our staff to stay home and self-isolate if they have symptoms, travel history or if their family member has any symptoms

However, all the above measures are expected to only reduce but do not eliminate the risk of contacting or spreading the COVID-19.
The clinic has implemented Virtual Care screening for non-urgent referrals to our EMG lab in adherence with the CPSA statement on March 21, 2020 to utilize virtual care and to limit physical examination to the most necessary cases.

Based on the Virtual Care screening, the EMG specialist will decide the best course of action for the patient and if the patient needs to attend in clinic assessment to perform the study. If the study is not considered necessary at the time of the assessment, the patient will be placed on our wait list to have the study performed once we get further update regarding the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
